so i usually watch 2 pretty great kittens, ron harper & will, while their owner, beth, is away. i love these cats. they're cute, super active. they're into everything. they punch each other out at least once a day, then sleep in a ball. they're pretty much the best thing ever even though they're pretty scratchy and you can't eat within a hundred yards of them (especially ron harper--who's the mischief ringleader.) often i'll come back to the house and find them sitting on top of the cabinets that are above the refrigerator. they also like to make flying leaps over my bed in the middle of the night. very bizarre.
well, for a month, i'm watching a different cat: pipt. i feel sort of like a traitor, being with another cat. it's strange, i do like pipt--but she's 13 & very very good. no mischief, lots of licking, she tries to sit on my head in the middle of the night to lick it. and it's a bit suffocating! i've realized that if i get a cat, i'm not sure i want a really well behaved one. who knew? only a sort of well behaved one. i've found myself missing rh and will's antics! also, i especially miss their squeaky voices. pipt talks a lot, a heck of a lot, and really really loudly and low. i'm not used to this.
i don't know if this all means that i only really want a kitten, or boy cats, or two cats, or cats that used to be strays (the boys did, pipit didn't.) who knows? gosh, i'm still uncertain--when i finally do get my cat(s) how i'll know that i've picked good ones. who will be funny and a bit crazy.
this is a photo of me and pipit. sorry about the darkness. there aren't a ton of lights in this house. but you can see how green it is in wyoming these days (very green!)
