trips & weddings

i think i might have to do a bit of back-posting to catch up here, but this fall has involved two fun trips to weddings: the first was the wedding of rachel (hathaway) & joe cardillo. the second was the wedding of jenny (fairchild) & luke dyson (which i think i'll write more on later).

but the first trip: rachel & joe's wedding was in philly. and it was a blast--i drove out with a roommate to several friends of mine (paige--roomate to kristen & megan), one of the guys who lives in my old apartment (david, who incidentally lives where jenny fairchild and I did) and someone who knows one of my friends from camp (scott, who knows kirstie!). odd, odd connections. once we got there, we were able to explore philly, having cheesesteaks at the premier philly cheesesteak restaurant (if you don't know, philly cheesesteaks are on my top ten food list). we had a surprise bridal shower for rachel, which was simple and fun and then 17 wheaton folks met up. and the wedding itself was beautiful, so rachel and joe. it was quite the time.

from philly, i traveled to new york city (my first time there) and it was much different than i expected. i spent 5 days in nyc, staying with kristin and kristen in brooklyn. we had a glorious time, eating at good ethnic restaurants, visiting central park, getting lost on the subway, basically being tourists (despite the fact that kristen lived there.) we also went to see a really strange alfred hitchcock film in one of the parks and went to a lot of church and church-ish things. i think my highlight was an afternoon in greenwich village...which, despite the fact you pay $8 for a smoothie, is a sweet little part of nyc.
