writers

one other highlight of this fall has been spending some time with various writers who have come into town. there has been a whole crew of stellar people here in wyoming this fall: greg pierroti, steve belber, salman rushdie, and my favorite, manuel munoz--all these guys have been great & super generous with their time. it's also been nice to actually figure out how working writers do it (most of them, i've come to realize, aren't just writing--they're working too. grunt jobs, good jobs--anything that lets them write.) above is a photo of my friend courtney at dinner with rushdie. i was also there, but as usual, didn't bring a camera.
