pipit

well, this is one last photo of me and pipit. i'm done watching her now. all in all, this is a good thing. it was getting kind of complicated trying to watch two houses at once. i almost had three for a little while. i'm starting to think i might have found my profession, even, my calling, though (finally: two masters degrees later!). i am an excellent house sitter, if i do say so myself. though i prefer living in only one house at a time, i think i could house sit indefinitely.

i am a little sad to leave pipit, of course--but i think this is mostly because, while watching pipit, i spent an enormous amount of time thinking about exactly what kind of cat i want to get. the problem is that i still don't know if it's prudent for me to get a pet. i do tons of traveling--usually most of every summer. i know cats are easy, but i also don't want to leave a cat alone for that long, and i'm not sure many people would want to take in somebody else's pet. such tough decisions.

i clearly have very little of anything important going on in my life right now (which is really good, after being so sick for so long), but the last piece of news is that by thursday, i will have the first draft of my thesis done. hooray! then one more draft and i'm finished. i've been working on this thing a full year now...so, despite the insane amount of work i'm currently putting off, i'm in the home stretch.
