thesis defense

the good news is that i passed my thesis defense. it was very very hard--much harder than i expected even. but i'm very happy to have passed and be done. and also very ready to take a break from writing for awhile--and certainly from the essays i was writing.

it's been a bit of an insane week, monday was the defense. tuesday and wednesday i had to upload my thesis, finish a bunch of paperwork and start saying goodbye to everyone. today we pack and tomorrow, 5 am, i move to missouri. a couple days later i'll head up to wisconsin for a little while.

it's very strange having anything end, but especially a graduate program, as it's not only your job, so to say, but also your community. i bet missouri will take some adjusting (it's flat, for one), but i hope it will be a good place. i'll post some photos once i find my camera cord.
