carrier

I feel like an inordinate amount of this blog is devoted to things I watch. But...last night, while grading, (my only real time to watch things), I discovered this show, carrier, which is an inside view of life on a naval carrier.

I'm hooked & wondering how I can use these same sort of ideas as a writer.

I met with one of my students this week, and he told me a lot about life in Iraq, watching a buddy die, raiding a cemetery, clearing out houses and buildings, only to get shot at.

I'm not sure how these things are related, exactly, besides that it's different to see and know the real people involved in the war--and the personal lives, beyond being soldiers.
