it's a sad summer when you only have ten days off (this, you see, is just one more reason why i want to be a professor: summers.) nonetheless, i spent the last week and a half (post defending my thesis) driving from wyoming to missouri to wisconsin. phew. i bought a great couch (see previous post), then i dropped it onto my left foot. bad news. it's been a week and i still can't wear a shoe.
but, the best part of my trip (which ends tomorrow) has been seeing my niece, who seems particularly intrigued by me. she mostly stares at me all the time, or maybe gazes, lots of looking. it's pretty funny and great.
